No surprise as the continental shelf drops off sharply relatively close to shore (just 25 kms/13.5 miles offshore) and the waters depth reaches up to 600-1,000 feet. These depths are encountered at only a few miles offshore in some areas making it great for short daily sport fishing charters from Pedasi.

Pedasi is also known as "The Tuna Coast" and is the best salt water sport fishing spot for tuna, deep sea fishing and wahoo in Panama. It is a major route for big eye tuna, yellowfin tuna and other pelagic gamefish such as the famous swordfish and marlin who are usually only found very far from mainland. Tunas and wahoos are known for its speed and invisibility making it some of the fastest and most exciting fish to catch on a sport fishing charter.
