Everything around here is tranquillo as we say (relaxed). Pedasi Panama & Playa Venao are a peaceful refuge to relax in a hammock for hours and not to do anything but enjoying the rustic-style of the region, the idyllic green hills, spectacular ocean views if you chose. But if you are itching for action or you finish your book, there is plenty of stuff to do: horse back riding, snorkeling, diving, surfing, fishing (they don't call this The Tuna Coast for nothing), walking on any of the wide open beaches, watching the powerful waves breaking against rocky shore, day trip to one of the stunning islands 15-20 minutes offshore, watching birds & iguanas, picking fruits from the trees or whale watching. And when you're done, head to Playa Venao for a cold beer at one of the very chill beach bars (which also offer excellent food).

The locals in this area of Pedasi Panama and Playa Venao are super friendly and commonly greet visitors with a welcoming smile. Many still use their horses to get from A to B, sometime a bike but only rarely the car. While driving down the streets watch out for the chickens and on Sunday's the cows - they are everywhere. Along the roads are one farm after the next - Azuero (Peninsula Azuero) is one of the major farming centers for Panama and Pedasi Panama and Playa Venao are located at the southern tip of the Azuero Peninsula.

Downtown Pedasi Panama is small and quaint and it's main attraction is a beautiful plaza. The square makes up the heart of Pedasi (the town) and is surrounded by a handful of restaurants, cafes, shops & bars. There is often live music or a party going on in "downtown" Pedasi and don't be surprised to see a mix of old and young, dogs and cats in between, chatting, dancing, catching up on the day and evening. You can feel transported to an old-school plaza somewhere in a small Tuscan village in Italy (ok, maybe that's a stretch...but it has a lot of charm) - just sitting in the square in Pedasi.

The newly added beach bars in Playa Venao offer a whole new element to the area as well and attract more than just top surfers from around the globe to the beaches of Playa Venao and Pedasi.

If you think you're strong enough and if you are brave enough, then you should come to Azuero during February's annual Carnival Festival. But be aware it is a "crazy" time in Panama during those days. But you will be able to see the women in their "polleras". Those dresses are traditionally hand-stitched and multi-layered, some of which can take almost a year to complete. They also wear lavish jewelry in their hair. During local fiestas the women will further decorate their polleras with gold chains and ornate jewelry. But the main activity is drinking! Drinking, drinking and more drinking. So, like we said, be forewarned...

Once you have been to Pedasi or Playa Venao, you will feel a longing to come back... you will know that you found something special. Pedasi and Playa Venao are unique and can not be recreated. Pedasi, Playa Venao and the whole area just has magic...there is no other way to describe it.
